My working place

I am Sarath Kumara Senavirathne. I am employed as a Staff Technical Officer. I work at the Faculty of Applied Sciences in the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. It is situated in the historic city of Mihintale on Anuradhapura - Trincomalee Road near the Mihintale town. This is situated 14 kilometers away from the east of Anuradhapura. It was established on the 31st of January, 1996. Our university has two hundred and fifty academic staff and four hundred non-academic staff. Our Vice Chancellor is Prof. K.A.Nandesena. The Registrar is Mr. A.G.Karunarathne. There are six permanent Professors in the university and many visiting Professors work in the faculties. There are also many Senior Lecturers and Probationary Lecturers, Instructors and Tutors working in the university. The university has five faculties. They are as follows:

01. Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities
02. Faculty of Applied Sciences
03. Faculty of Management Studies
04. Faculty of Agriculture
05. Faculty of Medicine and Allied Sciences

Rajarata University is a National University in Sri Lanka. There are many internal and external courses conducted in the university. They are as follows:
1. Postgraduate Diploma in Management
2. Online Degree Programs in Biological Science and Physical Science
3. Diploma in Business Economics
4. Diploma in Information and Communication Technology
5. Diploma in English
6. Certificate Course in English
7. Certificate Course in Information and Communication Technology
We have many problems. Drinking water is not in good condition. Some Senior Professors don’t come here. The children of the university employees haven’t good schools near the university because it is situated in a remote area.
