Murder
The
police have launched an investigation into the killing of an 82-year-old woman
and her 40-year-old Daughter-in-law in Nawimana North, Thunbodhiya area at
Matara, this afternoon. The two women were found killed in their own house
in Matara when the husband of the Daughter-in -law was not in the house. Police
said the Daughter-in-law was pregnant and also a mother of two.
Investigations so far had revealed
that the electricity had been disconnected before the crime was committed,
while the two children were in the house. Police said the suspects had been
identified and the crime motive was yet to be known. Matara Police are
conducting further investigations.
